Sharon Otieno lived the high life before her life was brutally ended in a murder that has shocked the country.

Otieno’s body was on Wednesday morning discovered in Kodera Forest, Homa Bay County. She was seven months pregnant at the time of her death.

A look into her Facebook account showed a woman who was living a luxurious life – at least by the standards of a university student in a public university.

From dining in high-end restaurants, staying in luxurious hotels, and frequent trips to the airport – it is the life that many students only dream of.

In one photo, her friend replied to her photo with the words ‘Japesa’, the Luo word for one who is moneyed to which Otieno responded with a thank you message.

Police have continued to investigate the circumstances in which Otieno was murdered after reportedly being abducted by the personal assistant to Migori Governor Okoth Obado.

Nation journalist Barrack Oduor was also kidnapped alongside the Rongo University student, but managed to escape after jumping off a speeding vehicle.

Oduor said that Otieno had given her a story about how she was allegedly impregnated politician in the area.
