Police have arrested 30 students who were busted at an overnight sex party in an abandoned house in Bomet.
The students from a local secondary school who are all believed to be KCSE candidates indulged in singing and dancing while indulging in alcohol and illicit sex.
Among the items recovered during the raid are used condoms and beer bottles with the intoxicated students taken into police custody.
The arrest was made after members of the public informed authorities after hearing loud music and shouting at the house which was fully packed with students.
Bomet OCPD Samson Rukunga confirmed the arrests, adding that investigations are underway to establish if all arrested were students.
“Yes, I can confirm we made arrest last night and we are treating them as normal drunkards as we try and find out if they are actually students.” Rukunga said.
Bomet township location Chief Reuben Ngetich who led the raid divulged that those arrested were students who had just completed KCSE exams.
“At a round 11:00PM on Friday I was called by locals over students shouting and dancing and I alerted the police and we conducted an operation where we arrested 30 underage boys and girls and we discovered were students who had completed their KCSE exams
A woman who is suspected to have supplied the students with alcohol was also arrested.
Parents of those arrested camped outside the police station hoping to secure the release of their children even as the Bomet OCPD maintained that those arrested will be produced in court on Monday.
The arrest comes amidst concerns of the growing number of teenage pregnancies with 20 students who wrote KCSE exams while expectant.
