Kenyans have had mixed reactions after NTV journalist Dennis Okari posted the first photos of his new wife, Naomi, on social media.
Prior to the wedding Okari had avoided posting any photos showing his private life, so much so that many people were caught by surprise after news of his wedding with Naomi.
On Saturday, Okari posted Naomi’s first photo on his Facebook page which he proceeded to make his profile photo.
On Monday morning, Okari shared a photo of his wife enjoying their honeymoon in the Malaysian capital city of Kuala Lumpur.
Okari decision to post new wife
“Sweet toothers. When the kingdom of God meets the kingdom of Chocolate #clashofthekingdoms Thank you @bonfire_deals @kabusimon @sarahkabu you have a spoilt people,” he posted.
The two posts drew passionate reactions with social media divided on whether the journalist had made the right decision to share his private life on social media.
Many of those who discourage Okari from posting the photos made reference to his much-publicised wedding with fellow anchor Betty Kyallo which collapsed six months after their union.
The story became fodder for the public given the intricate manner in which they had involved the public – including getting several advertisers to sponsor their wedding and honey moon.
Okari later admitted that the divorce drove him to a depression to the extent that he twice attempted suicide.
A section of social media users supported Okari and Naomi’s decision to share their love on social media – insisting that the NTV journalist should not be defined by his first marriage which did not work out.
