Ol Kalou Member of Parliament David Kiaraho Njuguna was on Monday arrested and held for questioning at the EACC regional office in Nyeri County.
The MP is accused of misappropriation of Sh120 million from his Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) kitty.
EACC investigators have also preferred charges of fraud, conflict of interest, embezzlement and misappropriation of public funds which occurred between 2013 and 2018.
The legislator was re-elected under the Jubilee party ticket in 2017 and has since officially launched one CDF project in his constituency, according to his official social media pages.
MP major CDF project
In January 2018, he launched 12 new classrooms, a school library and an administration block at the Kamande Primary School which was conducted in collaboration with NG-CDF and several donors namely TTS group LTD, Stephen Clark, Ardingly College from England and Cosy Ltd trustees.
In the 2016/2017 financial year, the MP claimed to have used the NG-CDF fund to build a dog kennel for Ol Kalou Police Station.
