John Allan Namu speaks on working with Uhuru-linked company during election

Here are the full details

Investigative journalist and Africa Uncensored CEO John Allan Namu has broken his silence after blogger Cyprian Nyakundi linked him to embattled UK Data Company, Cambridge Analytica (CA), which recently admitted to working with President Uhuru Kenyatta during the 2013 and 2017 General Elections.

In a tweet, Nyakundi claimed that Mr. Namu’s company was contracted by CA and the money paid opened a way for the journalist to buy a brand new Range Rover.

“Africa Uncensored the media outfit connected to John Allan Namu had been contracted by Cambridge Analytica through Alex Chamwada. Now you know where the money to buy 15m Range Rover came from. ,” Nyakundi who has also gained the monicker Boy child President said.

However, Namu has dismissed the allegations, which spread like wildfire online, as patently false.

“My attention has been drawn to comments online alleging that Africa Uncensored, the company I co-founded, was contracted by Cambridge Analytica to work on the Jubilee campaign.

"First and foremost, all of the claims being made are patently false, and from my reading, meant only to defame Africa Uncensored and myself. To what end, I do not know," he said.

Namu also rubbished claims of working with journalist Alex Chamwada, who was hired as a Communications specialist by President Uhuru Kenyatta led Jubilee party during the just concluded campaigns.

“We have never worked with  at any time in Africa Uncensored existence,” Namu said.

The Africa Uncensored boss also stated that he does not own a Range Rover and insisted that the claims were mere gossips propagated by bloggers.

“I do not own a Range Rover, nor do any of the members of my immediate family. Standing in front of a car does not mean that a person owns it. I have repeatedly stated this, but given that the story was mischaracterized by gossip blogs who have no interest in finding the truth, a lie has been spun repeatedly,” he said.

At the same time, Namu clarified his role in the just concluded General Election stating that through his firm Africa Uncensored tallied the results for the benefit of the public.
