Former Nation FM presenter Angela Angwenyi’s bank accounts are among those frozen in connection to the mega scandal at the National Youth Service (NYS).
Investigators have sought a court order which allowed 115 accounts in 14 banks and Unaitas sacco, to be frozen for 90 days as the government starts to seize assets acquired through theft of Sh9 billion from the NYS.
Angwenyi, who was also mentioned in the initial NYS Scandal of 2015, had her Housing Finance account frozen as part of the ongoing probe.
In the initial NYS scandal, the former journalist was put on the spot after it emerged that she received a Sh302 million contract at the NYS through her company, Out of the Box Solutions.
The Public Accounts Committee had pressed Angwenyi to explain what the company did to deserve the lucrative award.
