Samburu Governor Moses Lenolkulal's homes were on Wednesday morning raided by Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) detectives.
The early morning operation is said to be in connection to a Sh2 billion graft investigation.
The detectives descended on both his homes in Karen, Nairobi and in Samburu and are yet to reveal their findings.
The detectives are also said to have raided the residences and offices of top officials implicated in the scandal.
"There have been complaints of misappropriation of funds meant for the county which has prompted the searches," an EACC official told reporters.
Fight against corruption
In September 2018, Governor Lenolkulal voiced his opinion on the fight against corruption when Agriculture PS Richard Lesiyampe was arrested over the maize scandal.
Lenolkulal, who was hosting DP William Ruto for the Maralal Camel Derby, advised that there should not be any malice in the crackdown on graft.
"Such harassment will spoil people's careers, we have systems to fight corruption decently," he stated at the time.
