Immediate former government spokesperson Eric Kiraithe on Tuesday issued a message shortly after he was replaced by Colonel (Rtd) Cyrus Oguna.
Mr Kiraithe congratulated his successor, giving Kenyans the assurance that he is the perfect man for the job.
"Its is my great pleasure and honour to welcome Colonel (Rtd) Cyrus Oguna, MBS, as the new Government Spokesman.
"I have worked with Colonel (Rtd) Oguna in the past and can assure Kenyans that the Colonel is equal to the task
"Congratulations and best wishes," his statement read.
Under the Ministry of ICT
According to a statement issued by ICT CS Joe Mucheru, the office of the government spokesman will now be under his docket.
"In line with directions from the Executive Office of the President through the Head of Public Service, the office of the Government Spokesman shall be domiciled at the Ministry of ICT," Mucheru's statement read in part.
Before his appointment, Oguna served as the Joint National and Resource Mapping Project spokesman.
