Joho makes new announcement on way forward after Uhuru met Raila

He is away in Estonia for an investment meeting

Mombasa Governor and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) deputy party leader Ali Hassan Joho has made a new announcement on the way forward, days after President Uhuru met Opposition chief Raila Odinga.

The vocal governor who has been a vicious critic of the Jubilee government said that he is now ready to work with President Uhuru Kenyatta, to bring development to the people of Mombasa County.

Joho who spoke to Sunday Standard said that Raila’s move was in the best interest of the country and he would support him as his deputy.

“Raila is my party leader and he has made a move I believe is in the best interest of the country. As a deputy party leader in ODM I side with him; I am willing to engage the Jubilee government on development matters,” he said.

Governor Joho was among the first leaders in the opposition outfit NASA to commend the new found love between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Opposition leader Raila Odinga.

“I wish to express my support for my party leader the Rt. Hon. in his efforts towards unity, peace & justice in Kenya. I pray that God gives him strength & wisdom to deliver a brighter future for all of us in this country.” Said Joho in a tweet.
