Orengo's wife badly shames jubilee govt over Miguna's harassment

Strong statement

Renowned  human rights lawyer Betty Murungi has added her voice to those of other Kenyans who have condemned the harassment and attempted deportation of self-styled NRM General Miguna Miguna.

Murungi, who is also the wife to Siaya Senator James Orengo, accused the government of disregarding the constitution by blatantly defying court orders.

Ms Murungi schooled the immigration officials after the issued a statement where they claimed Miguna would be required to fill some forms in order to be accepted back as a Kenyan citizen.

"This is contempt of Court. Please read the judgement carefully. There is no such requirement imposed."

"Might be missing something here, but weren't you the same immigration dept now dispatching forms, responsible for violently attempting - in attempting contempt of court orders - deport #MigunaMiguna (again!) last night? For shame!" the soft-spoken lawyer stated on Twitter.

Ms Murungi also supported a statement made by her husband, the Minority Leader in the senate.

"The democratic state based on justice and the rule of law is dead. The Constitution of Kenya 2010 has been rendered a temporary ceasefire document by jubilee. The imperial and autocratic state is back," Orengo stated on Monday night.
