The Court of Appeal in Mombasa on Thursday upheld the election of Nyali Member of Parliament (MP) Mohamed Ali.
Ali’s competitor had appealed the February decision by the High Court, which upheld the decision of the Nyali voters to have the youthful MP serve as a member of Parliament.
The appellate judge Martha Koome said IEBC conducted the August poll in the constituency in accordance with the law, thus Ali’s win was verifiable.

Ali’s competitor, Said Abdalla, who is a brother of Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho, claimed the poll was marred by bribery, violence and intimidation.
The Court ruled that the petitioner failed to prove allegations against Ali, IEBC and its official.
