Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga has broken the silence on her trip to Russia to watch the World Cup games.

Omanga dismissed claims that she was misusing taxpayers money for the trip that has since caused an uproar among Kenyans.

The Senator, who has shared countless photos of the England-Croatia game yesterday, said that she paid for the trip from her own savings.

"I'm in  through personal sponsorship, I love football, I have going for World Cup since 2002 when I was 20 years old in Japan.

"The debates, I'm surprised. I save for it. In the next four years, I will be in Qatar and I have started saving for it," she said.

This comes at a time when  National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi said that the MPs who flew to Russia must prepare a report when they return to Kenya and table it before Parliament.

"Yes, some MPs have gone to Russia to watch the World Cup as members of the Sports and Culture committee, as well as Bunge FC.

"It's not a  the World Cup as members of the Sports and Culture committee, as well as Bunge FC. It's not a bad thing, but they must prepare a report when they come back and table it in Parliament. That's the standard procedure," he stated.
