Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho has caused a stir online after a video showing him controlling traffic in Mombasa went viral.
In the undated video, the governor is seen taking matters in his own hands to help in sorting out the traffic jam that has become synonymous with the coastal city.
Dressed in a reflector jacket, a white cap, blue pair of jeans and white shoes, Joho is seen chatting with motorists before allowing them to proceed.
The video elicited mixed reactions with some terming it a publicity stunt while others hailed Joho for his humility.
Kevin Mungai lauded Joho for providing an example to other governors writing: "Big up Hassan Joho. You are a good example to other governors."
Abdullahi mohammed khalif and Abdirahman Shalle hailed Joho, stating that he is “The most humble governor”.
Arap Rotich termed the move a PR stunt, challenging the governor to be on the same spot the next day to help sort out the traffic jam if at all he is sincere.
@Yousupphs took a swipe at the governor, wondering if Joho is preparing for what he would wish to do in 2022 upon the expiry of his current term.
