The message covered an entire half-page of the popular newspaper and was placed in the midsection of the paper.

The advert appeared to have been purchased by a supporter of Odinga who identified herself as an ordinary mwananchi going by the name Lillian.

Her statement was title “Thank you Raila” and went on to list seven items that the supporter appreciated about the Opposition leader.

Among them were the new constitution and devolution; exposure of corruption; restoring dignity for the poor; representing the voice of the people; among others.

In response to the ad, Kenyans on social media engaged in debate as they argued on whether the words were from a real Kenyan supporter or if it was an advertisement gimmick from the NASA campaign team.
