Hours after Commissioner Roselyn Akombe resigned from the electoral body, IEBC has responded.
Through their twitter account, the electoral body announced that they regretted Akombe's decision and would provide more details in due course.
"We regret the resignation of Commissioner Dr Akombe. We will provide more details in due course," IEBC stated.
News broke on Wednesday morning that Akombe had resigned 8 days to the fresh presidential election.
In an exclusive interview with a local station, the ex-commissioner disclosed that her life was in danger as one of the compelling reasons she quit IEBC.
"It has become increasingly difficult to appear on television to defend positions I disagree with in the name of collective responsibility. I have concluded that I am no longer making any significant contribution to the Commission and to my country as a Commissioner," she stated.
