Former K24 News Anchor cum East FM Presenter Shiksha Arora is mourning the death of her uncle who <a href="https://www.pulselive.co.ke/entertainment/celebrities/my-life-took-a-180-degree-turn-shiksha-arora-opens-up-on-a-tough-2020/0f3fcyw">succumbed to Covid-19.</a>

In a tweet, the Media Personality went on to urge Kenyans to adhered to all the precautionary measures put in place by the Ministry of Health to avoid contracting the deadly virus.&nbsp;

“Just lost an uncle to covid. Please be safe guys. This virus is ruthless” reads Shiksha Arora’s tweet.

Ms Arora’s caution comes at a time Kenya continue to register high Covid-19 positive cases on a daily basis.

On Thursday, the Ministry of Health confirmed 1, 463 news cases of the novel Coronavirus pushing the total number of positive cases in the country to 126,170.

At the same time, the country lost another 26 patients to the disease yesterday, pushing the cumulative fatalities to 2,092.

Ex-K24 news anchor Shiksha Arora has opened up on having a tough 2020 and how she picked herself up after reality hit hard.

The news anchor said she believed she would achieve most of her dreams by the time she was 30 years old until the covid-19 pandemic hit the world and her life took a drastic change, after losing a job she was so passionate about.

Ms. Arora stated that all this was beyond her control, but she has learnt that hitting rock bottom can give a new perspective on how to go about things if one is determined to achieve their dream.

“A time like this last year, I was working days, nights, oh and sometimes over the weekends too. I strongly believed I would conquer most of my dreams by 30. I was riding the wave of success BUT reality hit hard &amp; Covid-19 pulled a fast one on all my life plans. I lost my job, a job that I was so very passionate about and my life took a 180-degree turn ...

Society tells you that by 30, you should have your life figured out. Tremendous weight for little shoulders like mine hey? We are all on different paths &amp; there are certain things that are beyond our control e.g A WHOLE pandemic, what YOU actually have control over is how you bounce back. I've learnt that wherever you are in life and whatever dreams you may have, hitting rock bottom can give you that much-needed perspective even through Covid-19 pandemic if you have RESILIENCE &amp; HOPE!” she said.

Shiksha Arora noted that a year later, her story is different. The year that was tough gave her the freedom to experiment and rediscover her interests as she believed in herself.

She tried her hand at working through social media, and it has worked well for her, adding that 2020 taught her that she always has more to offer than she believes.

“Here I am a year later, healthier, a few kilos heavier &amp; happier. Being unemployed allowed me to swim into the murky waters of social media and surprisingly I’ve actually stayed afloat ever since (see what I did there) 😅 2020 made me realize that I have far more to offer than I let myself believe. 2020 gave me the freedom to experiment and take a leap of faith. 2020 allowed me to expand my horizons and rediscover my interests. 2020 taught me to believe in ME. 2020 taught me how to hit RESET.

On Monday, September 21, a section of Kenyans marked the 7th anniversary for the 2013 Westgate terrorist attack, that left more than 70 people dead.

Former K24 news anchor, Shiksha Arora who was among the survivors of the attack commissioned by four unknown gunmen said that her life changed forever from that day.

In a post seen by Pulse Live, Ms Arora said she still remembers the sounds, and images from the Westgate attack, and also the smells of that day.

She narrated how she called her parents to let them know that she was in the middle of the attack and to say her goodbye to them, just in case she didn’t make it out of the attack alive.

Shiksha mentioned that she still remembers those close to her that did not make it out alive, adding that their absence will never be filled.

“7 years ago, my life changed forever. I vividly carry the sounds, smells and images that remain from the #WestgateAttack. I remember calling my parents to say goodbye amidst the chaos telling them that I was in the middle of a terrorist attack and if I don’t make it out, I loved them. Today I remember all my loved ones who weren’t as lucky as I was to be given the title of a survivor. Your absence has created a void that will never be filled. 21.09.2013,” wrote Shiksha Arora.

On Saturday, September 21st 2013, four masked gunmen believed to be from the Al Shabaab militia group attacked the Westgate Mall in Nairobi, killing more than 70 people as hundreds others sustained serious injuries.

Former K24 sport anchor Tony Kwalanda has joined Red Cross owned station Switch TV, <a href="https://www.pulselive.co.ke/entertainment/joab-mwaura-tony-kwalanda-karen-karimi-and-nancy-onyancha-announce-exit-from-k24/mtfxdv1">days after being fired.</a>

In a tweet, Kwalanda indirectly announced that he was headed to the South C placed Media house, that as so far received a number of journalists who were recently laid-off at K24 and Royal Media Services.

“TONY KWALANDA is switchING to which TV station?” Kwalanda posed a rhetoric question to his followers.

Reports indicate that Kwalanda will be hosting a sports show dubbed Sports Center starting July 13th, 2020 (Monday) from 8pm to 9pm.

Kwalanda worked at K24 for a period of 11 years before he was affected by the recent retrenchment that saw hundreds of employees declared jobless.

“I am switching to another station and taking sports to a whole new level. Thank you K24 for the 11 years of GREAT experience. WATCH THIS SPACE FOR MY NEXT MOVE!!!” said Kwalanda in his exit message.

New Team at Switch TV

On Tuesday, <a href="https://www.pulselive.co.ke/entertainment/switch-tv-introduces-new-team-days-after-its-top-presenters-were-poached-by-k24/ddq17lg">Switch TV unveiled a new team of news anchors</a>, days after some of its top presenters were poached by K24 TV.

Those who were introduced include; Frederick Muitiriri (Formerly at Inooro TV), Nancy Onyancha (formerly at K24), Hadiya Mwasiwa, Joel Chacha and Emmanuel Terer.

K24 News Anchor Shiksha Arora wowed many of her fans for displaying her impeccable dance moves while in studio.

In a post seen by Pulse Live, Ms Arora who was just about to go live with the news was dancing to Rayvanny’s song Pepeta featuring Canadian singer and actress Nora Fatehi.

She went on to caption the video saying that Pepeta is her favorite and she quickly transforms to a dancer whenever the song is played.
