Four people have been killed in a grisly road accident on the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway.

Eleven others were injured in the accident that occurred at Salama area.

The dawn accident involved a a lorry and a PSV matatu on the busy Mombasa-Nairobi highway.

Confirming the incident, Mukaa OCPD Charles Muthui said those injured were rushed to Machakos Level 5 Hospital.

“The bus was coming from Mombasa headed to Nairobi before hitting the back a lorry which had  suffered mechanical problems and was parked on the roadside,” said Muthui.

According to Muthui, the bus was overtaking when it collided with the lorry.
