Muhoozi Kainerugaba eyes Beyonce, sparks controversy by declaring what he has to offer

Apparently, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba has been waiting for Beyonce and is now wondering how much longer he has to wait.

Apart from making waves in the entertainment and business circles globally, American singer Beyonce Knowles-Carter is also making waves in General Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s life.

The acclaimed singer has attracted the attention of Uganda’s Chief of Defence Forces of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF).

Apparently, the general has been waiting for her and is now wondering how much longer he has to wait.

Kainerugaba who is Uganda President Yoweri Museveni’s son is not new to making controversial statements and this time he let his thoughts on Beyonce known, sparking controversy.

He took to social media wondering how much longer he has to wait for the renowned global star.

Kainerugaba wrote on X on December 28, wondering if the singer has an idea of how many cows he has, presumably for paying her dowry.

“But how long will I wait for Beyonce? Does she know how many cows I have?”

Muhoozi Kainerugaba ignites diplomatic tiff with Sudan

Just before Christmas (on December 21, 2024) Muhoozi sparked a diplomatic tiff with Sudan with his controversial tweets on taking over Sudan’s capital.

Khartoum responded swiftly by demanding an apology for the “irresponsible” comments.

Notably, Gen Muhoozi made similar comments on seizing Nairobi on 20 January 2023 in a tweet that has since been deleted, with the two sister states not making much of the tweet that turned out to be empty rhetoric.

"I will capture Nairobi for sure! That's my hometown. If any Kenyan tries to prevent me. He'll be soup! We will drink him for dinner. My father can sack me again if he wants.

Some Kenyans fear us because they know our military is greater than theirs. Our Army can capture Nairobi in 1 week!

Rise in military and political circles

His rise in military and government circles sparked speculation that his father may be grooming him for a higher role in government, including the presidency.

On March 15 at 11:22 pm, General posted on X that he would vie for the presidency in 2026.

The post which has since been deleted sparked controversy as his father's party had endorsed the incumbent for the presidency in 2026, but gave a glimpse of the General’s political ambitions.

He is the chairman of the Patriotic League of Uganda, a lobby group that is in support of his presidency.

His career in the military has seen him serve in several positions, including as commander of the Special Forces Command (SFC), Ugandan Military’s special operations unit.

Apart from his role in the army, Kainerugaba was also appointed a Senior Presidential Adviser for Special Operations in 2021.
