Popular Mediamax journalist has harbored suicidal thoughts after he was sacked.
Moses Kanyira who was sacked on Monday 19 February 2018, was a Kameme FM presenter which is a radio station under Mediamax.
Moses has worked with the radio station for ten years. The stressed presenter shared his current situation Facebook hours after his contract was terminated. His facebook post read;
“Am passing the most trying period in my life.if it is not my God,this can amount to commit suicide.
Media sacking
His sacking has come shortly after Nation Media Group sacked a number of its journalists including veteran journalist Emmanuel Juma.
According to reports NTV is firing in order to cut costs to keep profits high. This is the second phase of its restructuring. The first was implemented in early last year. The company’s management is under pressure to grow profit in a tight market with growing competition.
The Standard Group also laid off top editors in mid-December most of whom were sacked on retrenchment basis.
Citizen TV also did massive sacking in 2016 that saw big names being sent home. Some of them were; Terryann Chebet, Kirigo Ng’arua, Agao Patrobas, Shisia Wasilwa, Abdi Osman and Victor Kenani.
