Orgasming during labor is an actual thing

Having babies is one of the best things that could ever happen to a woman. However, giving birth is no walk in the park.

Beyond the idea of stretching inches of your lady parts upto a terrifying ten centimeters wide, there are high chances that you will have to be cut open, go through a caesarian or even worse lose your life or your baby's in the process.

But what if I told you that you could orgasm during the process of giving birth?

Yup, it's an actual thing.

While it's not a popular experience, women over the past have confessed to orgasming while having a baby.

In January 2, 2009, childbirth educator Debra Pascali Bonaro aired a controversial documentary dubbed

The documentary was meant to change the concept of giving birth from one that is torturous to something pleasurable for the woman.

While this was of course met with quite an undulated stream of negative responses, women all over the world started trying it out and most have claimed that it actually works!

The science behind it?

According to author of Women's Wisdom, Christine Northrup, a baby coming out of the womb should give the same sensation as something else going in. “When the baby’s coming down the birth canal, remember, it’s going through the exact same positions as something going in, the penis going into the vagina, to cause an orgasm."

Another fact that explains this phenomena is the hormonal change that happens to the body during labour. Christine, who is also an obstetrician and gynaecologist said during an interview with New York Times, “…Labor itself is associated with a huge hormonal change in the body, way more prolactin, way more oxytocin, way more beta-endorphins — these are the molecules of ecstasy.”

Orgasming during labor could be happen in different ways: One could be spontaneous and another self-stimulated.

Could this be the key to less painful labor experiences or should women fully endure the intensity of natural birth? Have you tried it before?
