Appendicitis is a condition in which the appendix becomes inflamed and filled with pus, causing pain.
It is common among teenagers and people in their early 20s.
If not treated, it can lead to rapturing of the appendix which can be life-threatening.

Here are some signs to look for:
1. Stomach pain
It is usually the first appendicitis symptom. The pain is generally located around the belly button. The pain sometimes moves to the lower right side of the abdomen.
The pain can also occur when coughing or when bumped.
The pain intensifies in a matter of hours.
2. Increase pain when using the toilet
Patients will complain about pain when peeing or even when experiencing diarrhea. This is especially if the appendix is positioned in the lower right abdomen.
3. Nausea and vomiting
The sensation of wanting to vomit along with a loss of appetite is another sign. If the sharp pains are accompanied by this, you should consult a doctor immediately.
4. Fever
Fever is usually a sign of infection. The combination of hot and cold, combined with the stomach pain is a warning sign of appendicitis.
5. Difficulty moving
Due to the pain, patients may find it cumbersome to move. Experts advise against moving around.
