Diy easy guacamole recipe

Originated from Mexico, guacamole is and easy and very filling dip.

Main ingredient is avocados, ripe avocados. Avocadoes are almost ¾ full of fat that is monounsaturated, hence the filling you get from eating them.

Avocados are also full of potassium, vitamin K, vitamin E and B vitamins. To my surprise, I discovered that they have a very high amount of fiber, 75% insoluble fiber and 25% soluble fiber.

You can use guacamole in various dishes, from nachos dip; to rice side dish…the varieties are broad and wide.

So what are the basic steps of making a guacamole?

Ingredients

• 1 large avocado

• 1 firm tomato, finely diced

• 1/2 onion

• 1/2 cup chopped dhania

• 2 tbsp fresh lemon or lime juice

• Optional salt and pepper to taste.

Method

Open the avocados and scoop out the flesh. An easy way is to cut it length-wise around the pit and then using a knife strike the pit and then twist the knife so you can easily remove the pit and scoop out the flesh.

Mash the flesh with a fork; it can still have hard parts, follow your preference.

Stir the other ingredients. The lemon juice helps the guacamole to stay fresh and balance the flavor plus “removes’ the taste of avocado for those who don’t like avocado.

Enjoy right away or store in the refrigerator. A trick is to put a plastic wrap that touches the guacamole, or a  light coating of cooking spray so it doesn’t brown because of contact with air.
