Great things that happen to you when you let go of a toxic relationship

Everyone has experienced a toxic relationship at least once in their life.

Whether it was your best friend, sister, brother or lover; there comes a point when the negativity can really take a toll on your own wellbeing.

The messed up part about most of these relationships is that, people rarely realize how toxic they can be. That person’s influence can make you lose your identity, make you become bitter or even turn you into a toxic person yourself.

Most of the time people don’t even know that they are in one until they ditch them and here are a few amazing things that happen when you leave a toxic relationship.

1.You feel free

Get the shackles of my feet so I can dance. The freedom you feel when you let go of a toxic relationship is beyond liberating.

You no longer have to always walk on egg shells with them; you no longer have to feel entitled to being accountable about your every move and decision when it comes to them. You don’t have to deal with jealousy.

You’re free. Bye bye negativity.

2.You love yourself better

This can be tied to the first point. You are able to focus more on what your wants and needs are without worrying about that other person.

You don’t have their constant unnecessary comments in your ear all the time. Telling you how you don’t love them enough or how you love other people more than you do them. Comparing each other’s relationships is the worst thing anyone can do if they really want a relationship to flourish.

Oh plus you’re able to love other people better as well.

3.You grow

When you get rid of toxic people in your life, you tend to see the world a little bit more clearly. You tend to realize what you missed out on and start seeing the potential of what was in front of you while you were in that person’s bubble.

It’s like you’re learning new things for the first time. There’s no skepticism or negativity in your life anymore and you can just do you.

4.You self-confidence gets a much needed re-boot.

There is nothing sexier than being confident- not to be confused for cockiness.

If you lost that confidence in a toxic relationship then fear not because once you cut that person from your life, it all comes back. You start looking at yourself with more self-worth and understand how you want to be treated and there’s nothing more respectable than that.

If you’re in a toxic relationship, the best thing you can do for yourself is to count your losses and leave; matter of fact run. Sometimes some relationships just aren’t meant to be and that’s okay. It’s okay to love those people from a far.
