Selma Blair revealed in October 2018 that she had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS). This morning she shared a photo of her brain scan on Instagram, and the image is actually beautiful.
"What part of the brain looks like an incredibly precious face of a #cheetah? #mri," Selma captioned the shot, linking to pictures of the majestic big cat. "The glowing bits are part of the stuff that makes me feel so different. #christmaslights #activelesions."
Selma also shared that she loves seeing images of her brain and that she wants to see as much as she can. She included the hashtag #beautifultrauma.

According to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society , MRI scans are used to diagnose and track the disease, so doctors can determine whether a current treatment is working, or if lesions are growing.
In her post, Selma also noted that March is MS awareness month. The goal is for more people to learn about the debilitating central nervous system disease that can cause symptoms including blurred vision, loss of balance, poor coordination, slurred speech, tremors, numbness, extreme fatigue, problems with memory and concentration, paralysis, and blindness and more.
In fact, March 30 is World MS Day . More than 2.3 million people are affected by MS worldwide, most of them women. This year, the theme is visibility, using the hashtag #MyInvisibleMS, to help raise awareness of the unseen symptoms of MS that can impact people's quality of life .

Selma is already working hard to make the disease more visible by openly sharing her experience and posting about it on social media. She also used a cane at the 2019 Vanity Fair Oscars partyand looked like an absolute Queen.
