Barely a day after president Uhuru Kenyatta held a meeting with Jubilee party leaders from the expansive Mount enya region, Deputy President William Ruto has issued an ultimatum to Jubilee party MPs while reacting to yesterday's meeting that was seen by many as an effort to mend the rifts in the party with reports indicating that it is on its death bed.

Speaking at Liloch Primary School, a tough-talking DP Ruto demanded that all Jubilee MPs who have expressed interests in other parties to declare their stand immediately.

Most recently, the divisions within the party played out in the Kibra by-election where several MPs came out publicly to support ODM's candidate, Bernard Imran Okoth at a time when the party had its candidate.

His remarks come barely a day after President Kenyatta called for an end to the politicking, urging Jubilee party politicians to support his government in delivering a better life for Kenyans.

In his address, Uhuru expressed his disapppointment, stating that some of the statements leave him wondering why certain leaders were elected in the first place.

“I hear a lot of insults and political remarks from some of your leaders here and I wonder what they were elected to accomplish,” said Uhuru.

Deputy President William Rut has been leading in the attack, with most of his statements targetting former Prime minister Raila Odinga.

The DP who was speaking on Saturday, 16 Nov 2019 shortly after commissioning the Kipkelion-Kebeneti-Fortenan road maintained that the party is still intact and told off his critics from both within and outside Jubilee who have been alleging that the party is deeply divided and in its final days.

“Kama vile rais amesema jana, wale manabii wa uongo na watu wa ukora ambao walikuwa wanatuzungushia maneno, ooh Jubilee imekwama, ooh, Jubilee ikon a shida, ooh, Jubilee imetawanyika sasa wako na mwelekeo sawasawa kutoka kwa party leaders wetu kwamba Jubilee is united.

(As the president stated yesterday, the false prophets and conmen who have been spreading rumors about problems and disunity in Jubilee now have a better understanding from our party leader that Jubilee is united.)” Fired Ruto.
