Two police officers were on Thursday charged with stealing from different Barclays Banks ATM's.
The two were part of a group of other three people namely two security guards and a taxi driver.
Four of the criminals were charged with the plan to commit the crime of stealing Sh2.8 million while the fifth who is the taxi driver identified as Patrick Nyoike Karanja, was charged with stealing Sh1 million.
The suspects pleaded not guilty as their case is set to be heard on June 5.
Identities of the other four criminals are: Fredrick Herman Otiya, Daniel Orero Okindo, George Gachungu Njoroge and Johns Otieno Makambogo.
Over Sh11 million stolen from Barclays Bank ATMs
Last Saturday, Sh14 million had been reported stolen from four separate Barclays Bank ATMs.
The robbers had been believed to have visited the ATMs spread across the city at Mutindwa, Buruburu, Kenyatta National Hospital and at The Mater Hospital in South B over the Easter weekend shortly after they were loaded with cash, making away with more than 11 Million shillings.
Police officers had stated that Sh6,290,000 was stolen at Mutindwa, Sh4,315,000 at KNH and another Sh1 million at the South B machine.
