The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has summoned Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, Performance, and Delivery Management, Justin Muturi, to record a statement concerning the abduction of his son.
In a statement released on Sunday, January 12, the DCI clarified that Muturi’s cooperation is critical in advancing ongoing investigations into the incident. This follows concerns raised by Muturi over delays in solving abduction cases across the country.
DCI details progress in investigations
According to the DCI, the abduction case involving Muturi’s son is being actively investigated by the Kilimani office. So far, only Muturi’s son has recorded a statement regarding the incident.
The Directorate expressed the need for more cooperation, emphasising that all cases are being handled with diligence.
We wish to reassure the public that most of the abduction cases reported to the Police have been successfully investigated and are now pending before court, and investigations into the current cases will be no exception.
The DCI also acknowledged the frustration expressed by Muturi, echoing broader public concerns about the handling of abduction cases.

Once finalised, these files will be forwarded to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) for review and potential prosecution.
The Directorate called on the public to assist in investigations by sharing relevant information in confidence.
We continue to appeal for support from the members of the public, who may have any information that can assist in the investigations, to share the same with us in confidence.
