The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has announced that the 2024 Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) results are now available.
According to a statement shared on its official platforms, the reports have been uploaded on the Competency-Based Assessment (CBA) portal, accessible at http://cba.knec.ac.ke.
In the update, KNEC advised schools that presented candidates for the assessment to log into the portal to access learner-specific reports.
These reports provide detailed insights into individual learners' performance, aligning with the competency-based approach to education introduced under the 2-6-3-3-3 system.
The KPSEA is part of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) introduced to replace the 8-4-4 system.
The assessment evaluates learners’ progress in their final year of the primary school cycle, focusing on their skills and competencies rather than merely academic scores.
Accessing the Reports
Step 1: Log in to the CBA Portal
Begin by visiting the official KNEC CBA portal at http://cba.knec.ac.ke. Schools must use their credentials to log in.
These credentials were provided during the registration process for the assessments.
If you encounter issues logging in, double-check the username and password or contact KNEC’s support team for assistance.
Step 2: Select the Relevant Portal
Once logged in, you’ll see options for various assessments. Click on either the KPSEA or KILEA portal, depending on the report you want to access.
These portals are designed to streamline the process and ensure you access the right information.
Step 3: Locate the Reports
Navigate to the “View Reports” section within the selected portal.
This is where all learner-specific performance reports are stored. The reports are organised to make it easy for schools to find the relevant data for their candidates.
Step 4: Download the Performance Reports
To download a learner’s report, type in their assessment number in the designated search bar.
Once the report is displayed, click on the “Download KPSEA/KILEA Performance Report” button. Save the document for record-keeping and future reference.
Important Note: Only schools are authorised to download these reports, so parents and guardians should contact their child’s school to obtain a copy.
