President ‘Uhuru’s’ twitter account given to Uganda’s police boss

President ‘Uhuru Kenyatta’s’ twitter account has been given to Uganda’s new Inspector General of Police John Martin Okoth Ochola.

The account @_Ukenyatta was mostly used during campaigns. Kenyans were engaged through the twitter handle.

A section of Ugandans who were keen to follow and notice the sudden changes were angered with the turn of events.

According to reports the account is operated by a Kenyan PR guru known as Cynthia Nyamai and they are said to be the ones who modified President ‘Uhuru’s’ account on March 4 and gave it to the newly appointed Uganda police boss

Uganda’s police however confirmed that it was not the IGP’s official account in a tweet by Uganda Police Force. It read;

“Please note that none of the accounts below are the official accounts of the the Inspector General of Police. We will share the details of his account in due course.

Some tweeps have concluded it is a BOT account.

A Twitter bot is a type of bot software that controls a Twitter account via the Twitter API. The bot software may autonomously perform actions such as tweeting, retweeting, liking, following, unfollowing, or direct messaging other accounts.
