Githunguri Member of Parliament Gathoni Wamuchomba has opened up little-known details of her association with Law Society of Kenya President, Faith Odhiambo.
The MP recounted that she did not know Odhiambo well prior to the protests that rocked the country for several months as Kenyasn took to the streets to reject the Finance Bill 2024, and to demand better governance.
As police cracked down on the youthful protesters with several killed, many injured and some abducted, the LSK President was thrust at the center of it all.
The lawmaker recounted that she met Odhiambo in the struggles during the protests and was won over by the LSK President’s selfless service, amazing talent and good heart as she defended unarmed youth against police brutality.
Some people are just amazingly talented and good hearted. I didn’t know her well till we met in the struggles after the Gen Z protests. I had to step up as a mother and do what was needed to assist young people in distress.
Wamuchomba's calls at night & how Faith Odhiambo came through
Wamuchomba shared that in the course of defending the youth against police brutality, she would call Odhiambo at night and she did that without expecting much.
Sometimes, I had to call this lady at night to stand in the gap to defend youths against police brutality and she did just that without much expectations.
Wamuchomba presented the LSK President with a bouquet of flowers and a Christmas gift.
Faith Odhiambo's place in Kenya's history
The MP added that Odhiambo’s selfless service to the nation has earned her a special place in Kenya’s history and her actions as well as contribution to a better Kenya will not be forgotten.

Odhiambo was named one of the most influential women in 2024 and bagged several awards including the prestigious International Commission of Jurists (ICJ) Kenya Jurist of the Year Award.
