Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino made a hilarious joke on Chinese Nationals after Kenya Airways made a historic landing to New York City direct from Nairobi.

In his tweet, the MP made fun of the Chinese on how they have occupied and dominated the Kenya’s Standard Gauge Railway (SGR), yet a Kenyan pilot could fly a KQ plane direct to United States.

“Yaani a Kenyan pilot can fly a Boeing to JFK a distance of about 11,800kms but Chinese here wont allow our people to steer a mere locomotive from Syokimau to Mombasa?”

This however, brought about different reactions from Kenyans On Twitter including politicians.

Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo was not left out among the KOT to react to Owino’s message.

Others went as far as to say that SGR did not belong to Kenyans unlike Kenya Airways.

"The plane is ours...the train isn't" tweeted Joyce Mmaitsi.

"Why you buy a matatu using loan, does the bank drive it?" tweeted Mr. Wambui.
