Deputy President William Ruto thanked the husband of the late Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso, Edwin Abonyo.
Speaking on Friday in Bomet, Dr Ruto thanked Mr Abonyo for standing by his wife and supporting her firmly while she served the people who elected her in office.

He made the statement in the backdrop of a message by Public Service, Youth and Gender Affairs Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Rachel Shebesh, to Mr Abonyo.
Last message to family

The CAS said: “Joyce told us that she was luckier than all of us combined and I can agree. You are those husbands who come from heaven…in case you didn’t know, all her conversations were about your love."
Opposition leader Raila Odinga who took to the podium before the Deputy President also echoed the Youth and Gender CAS's message and admiration for Mr Obonyo.
