William Ruto makes a 34 million shilling donation to a Ugandan church

There was a time when Nicholas Biwott and former president Daniel Moi were the ultimate Harambee guests, now, Ruto seems to have mastered the art so perfectly he has surpassed them by far.

If you have a harambee and you only need one guest to come and help you meet your target, call the ultimate hustler, William Ruto, Kenya’s Deputy President.

All your costs can be spent ensuring a crowd comes but then again  no one wants to miss a live view and experience of one so gifted with the gift of garb like Ruto.

His generosity has since crossed borders and over the weekend he and the president sent their contributions to a church in Uganda.

Each of their contributions almost hit the million mark with each donating Ksh. 967,150.

When read out their contribution was 34 million shillings which Narok governor Samuel Tunei who presided the function has since clarified was in Ugandan shillings. Here is the video

The DP however is no stranger to huge money contributions. Churches and schools are his favorite spots and on two separate incidents he has been recorded to have donated over 10 million shillings in just under three months.

He even made the huge brown envelope a trend and introduced it into Kenyan political speak as his millions of contribution were often ferried in big brown parcels often by his personal assistant Farouk Kibet.

In 2015, the deputy president was recorded by various media platforms to have donated as much as 20 million in under 90 days excluding the president’s contribution he occasionally gets sent with.

This latest incident comes after he had criticized Christian leaders who had called for politicians’ harambee contributions to churches to be stopped.

“Those barring us from conducting church harambees should know that we are Christians first and politicians second. One cannot retire from Christianity but can from politics,” he stated.

William Ruto has been to innumerable harambees but the following images have become iconic typifying just the colossal sums of money he dishes out of his bottomless pocket and generous heart.
