<p>To mark the special occasion, the international superstar shared a picture of <a href="https://www.pulse.ng/entertainment/celebrities/davido-and-chioma-step-out-with-twin-babies-born-in-the-us/s27w5yn">his newborn twins</a> for the first time.</p>

<p>The celebratory tweet included a sweet moment with the singer kissing his wife, <strong>Chioma Rowland,</strong> as well as a picture of his father, <strong>Deji Adeleke.</strong></p>

<p>Davido welcomed his twins with his&nbsp;<a data-link-role-code="open_new_tab" href="https://www.pulse.ng/entertainment/celebrities/assurance-secured-davido-confirms-marriage-to-chioma/wp1lwdq">longtime partner</a>&nbsp;after she delivered the twin babies sometime in October in a hospital in the United States of America. </p>

<p>In a viral video posted online last month, the happy couple were captured outside a hospital, with Chioma holding their newborn babies in her hands while sitting on a wheelchair.</p>

<p>During a recent interview, Davido revealed how he felt when he learned he was expecting twins while dealing with&nbsp;<a data-link-role-code="open_new_tab" href="https://www.pulse.ng/news/local/police-confirm-davidos-son-drowned/brmln38">the loss of his 3-year-old son</a>,&nbsp;<strong>Ifeanyichukwu Adeleke.</strong></p>

<p>In his words, <em>"When me and my wife found out, we were shaking and it was in the same month, happened in October and my wife gave birth in October, it's crazy."</em></p>

<p>On dealing with the devastating loss of his son, the renowned artist appreciated his support system for being there for him.</p>

<p><em>"There are a lot of people that those things happen to; you would never want to believe in God in your life. But to still have faith and I'm still able to do what I love, having a great team around me. And now we're almost at the finish line," </em>he stated.</p>

<p>The couple <a data-link-role-code="open_new_tab" href="https://www.pulse.ng/news/local/police-confirm-davidos-son-drowned/brmln38">lost their child</a>,&nbsp;who sadly drowned in the swimming pool at their Lekki residence in November 2022.</p>

<h2>As a kid, Editi Effiong lived to read and write, a passion that led to him writing a novel at 14 with language so vivid that his siblings were convinced that it was written for the screen and not just to be read.</h2>

<p>His love for words stuck with him as he grew up and got into university, where he picked up coding and design. After a brief foray into the oil and product manager world, he returned to his first love by launching a digital marketing agency, Anakle, which eventually took him back to where it all started: writing for the big screen.</p>

<p>A feature and short film later, Effiong set out to make his directorial feature-length debut with his ambitious project yet,&nbsp;<strong><em>The Black Book,</em></strong>&nbsp;with a $1 million+ budget, making the movie Nollywood's biggest production so far. Despite the COVID outbreak that affected him personally and other setbacks, the movie got made with a talented cast and crew from six different countries.</p>

<p>After getting acquired by Netflix, the world finally got to see Effiong's mystery and crime thriller on September 22, 2023. One week later, <a href="https://www.pulse.ng/entertainment/movies/the-black-book-is-number-1-on-netflix-in-12-countries/enb2v2q"><em>The Black Book</em> is currently a global hit</a> and the biggest film out of Nigeria on the streaming platform ever.</p>

The movie, which also explores Nigeria's history of drug trafficking, stars a blend of old and new Nollywood, including&nbsp;<strong>Richard Mofe-Damijo, Ade Laoye, Sam Dede, Alex Usifo Omiagbo, Shaffy Bello, Ikechukwu Onunaku, Denola Grey,&nbsp;</strong>and&nbsp;<strong>Boki Ofodile.</strong></p>

<p>In this exclusive interview with&nbsp;<strong><em>Pulse</em></strong>, Effiong shares his formula for making <a href="https://www.pulse.ng/entertainment/movies/heres-how-rmd-got-in-shape-to-play-the-lead-in-the-black-book/zyc3srq">a believable Nigerian action film</a>, the joys and challenges that come with making that the 'most logistically advanced adventure' the industry has ever seen, and more.</p>

<p><em>This interview has been lightly edited and condensed for clarity.</em></p>

<h3>From writing novels to famous ads</h3>

<p>What I do remember growing up is that my dad had a master's degree in English and had a shitload of books. My house looked like a library. I would just disappear and just read. I read the entire African Writers Series before I was 12 years old. By the time I turned 10, I had started writing; the more I read, the more I wrote. I would write simple essays. It's why I scored As in English the entire time. When I was 14 going on 15, I wrote myself a 300-page novel as my birthday present. It was called 'A Mile From Life'. My siblings read it, and the thing that was obvious to them was that I wrote this thing for the screen, not to be read, because it was very vivid; they could see everything they were reading. I wrote the 'Perfect Scar' next. I wrote a lot.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Time went by, I picked up computers along the way and taught myself to use computers, write code, and design. I started a design company when I was 17 and did that until I was 23. I spent time at Exon Mobil for a bit because I had written oil spill response software at the university. Then one day, I decided this was not what I wanted to do because oil was boring. I picked up a job as a product manager, which I did for two years before I left to start Anakle. Advertising was fun. I combined my technology and marketing background to help brands tell stories in a way that they didn't. We locked in on notoriety as the agency that was infamous for building the most viral campaigns in the country. I have done a lot, and everything brings you here.</p>

<p>In 2015, I started travelling the country because Nigeria was so divided post-election. I travelled the north, and the experience that stuck with me was in Zamfara, where we ran out of water and went to an old woman’s house to ask for water, and she gave us not just water but food too. She was very poor; it could have been the only food she had, and I came away from that experience thinking people are just people, people are good and bad, and they want the same thing you want. What I didn’t expect to see was how beautiful it was. It was gorgeous, and I felt like I had to show this to the world. We from the south don't get to see the north, and vice versa.</p>

<p>So, I started writing the draft of&nbsp;<strong><em>Up North</em></strong>. It became the biggest film Nollywood had done in terms of scale at the time. The biggest set ever shot in Nollywood was the&nbsp;Durbar. There were a bunch of things I would liked to do but I didn't direct the movie so it wasn't my vision. It was my dream but not my vision. I invited Inkblot to help make&nbsp;<em>Up North</em>&nbsp;and they invited me to come in other productions. Then I got a call from the US Justice Department to tell a story about counterfeiting. I had a story sitting in my head —&nbsp;<strong><em>Fishbone</em></strong>, I just sat down and wrote it. It took me about 30 minutes. I sent it to them, they loved it and that was it. That was my first directing a film. Shortly after&nbsp;<em>Fishbone&nbsp;</em>was done, I thought I wanted to do a feature.</p>

<p>I remember speaking to my friend about the feature I wanted to do called <em>The Black Book</em>. It was always called that. I suck at titles and naming things, but that was the name that came to me—a man searching for justice after his son is killed. I developed the story and then called Bukunmi Ajakiye to work with me on the script. The further we went with the script, the more I realised that there was a certain level of scale and quality that I wanted in the story, and it kept evolving. We got to the second act and then decided that the third act that we had wasn’t good enough; it wasn’t big enough for the story we had built in the first and second acts. We said, 'Let's take a step back from this story, give it a week or two, and come up with new ideas'. We were going downstairs when it occurred to me. So, I was like, 'Bunmi, we have the story'. She asked, 'What do you mean?' I replied, 'What is the title of the movie? Right there, that's your third act. The Black Book, we create a literal Black Book'. That's how we created the story. I worked with Bunmi through the first draft. I wrote the second, third, fourth and fifth drafts. I did two script editing workshops. I remember the first editor saw a market scene we planned to do in Balogun and asked how we planned to execute it. I said, 'I am going to build the market'. The editor said, 'No, you can not. You are going to need like 100 extras. Did you even think about the production while writing?' I answered, 'Yeah, I thought about it and I know exactly how I am going to do it'. She was so upset about that that she quit. But I knew I was going to do it. The second script editor was<strong>&nbsp;Jade Osiberu</strong>. It was my first time working with her on anything and it was good.</p>

<p>After that workshop, I tried to get a producer, but they dropped out so that's how I got to work with Lala Akindoju, she came on board seven months ahead of the project. She came in May, we shot in January. I had already started speaking with RMD and other actors that I wanted in March. I had a nice wish list and we got 90% of the people we wanted. It was unbelievable. The people I knew, I reached out to, the ones I didn't know, I asked friends for contact or Lala would know. I wanted a nice mix of veterans and young stars. I don't know how we did it. We had a wishlist and God gave us all the toys. It took about two years from story to set, it took four months to shoot and then it took about a year and a half in post-production.&nbsp;</p>

<h3>Building the world of 'The Black Book'</h3>

<p>The Balogun market scene ended up being one of the easiest. Tarkwa Bay was the hardest. It was a logistics nightmare, we transported over 100 crew and cast. We locked every hotel and accommodation on Tarkwa Bay. We had to bring our equipment trucks on the water. The army gave us approval to come but the Navy and army were fighting. So because the army was bringing us, the navy didn't let us dock. I had to make friends with the guys from the navy and then everything was good. We landed and set up because we had to set up the light exterior scene, the interior of that scene had already been shot in the studio. But we had a COVID outbreak so we had to shut down the set for 10 days, which messed up the schedule that had been set for the actors. The ADs hadn’t informed them of the new date so they weren't available. We had done all the hardcore logistics, and then I turned around and my actors were nowhere to be found. Apapa was crazy because to shoot at the seaport we had to have levels and levels of approval. Then, they had a covid outbreak so we had to wait a month to be able to shoot. So, we had to shoot in Lagos, go to Kaduna then come back to Lagos.&nbsp;</p>

<p>One of the easiest was Lekki, where we shot the traffic scene. We built our own so we could control all of that. That was a really good day. The worst day was easily day 48 in Kaduna, we were supposed to have a very expensively assembled set-up. The props for that day were at least ₦3 million, 100 guns, trucks and stuff. We were supposed to do live explosions. All the explosions were done on set, they were practical. That day, the explosion failed. And I felt like a failure that day. It was my worst day, I couldn't even go home that day. I sat quietly by a lake. The next day we assembled it and it worked. Actually, the next day was our best day on set. Usually, we would shoot two or three pages, this day, we had 13 sets to shoot and we shot all of them. It felt really good. I remember finishing that scene and running around like a banshee. That was a really good day.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I surrounded myself with people who knew exactly what they were doing. They were professionals, which is why I had Yinka Edward, who is the best that there is. I had my ideas but I wanted to be sure that those were the right ideas. We had a crew from six different countries. Of course, 90% are from Nigeria and we are very proud of that. We can't talk about <em>The Black Book</em> without talking about Pat Nebo. Everything that you see in the film that is not human is production design. We built 38 sets throughout the film and every single one of them looks amazing. He built everything from scratch.</p>

<h3>Creating the look and feel of the movie</h3>

<p>We had a colour palate. For Lagos, we established darkness with the colour scheme. As the film progresses, the colour changes. I also wanted the costume to look a certain way; the bad guys needed to wear dark colours, while the good guys wore happier colours. For the skin treatment, I didn’t want us to have a situation where we have excessive makeup. We got cameras and lenses from Panavision in the UK. The quality of equipment that we had was right up there.</p>

<p>For the characters, Paul Edima always had to wear outfits that were two sizes up, and they had to be grey because we had to take power from him and reduce him to an ordinary person. Remember, he has lost weight and done all this work, so if he wore short sleeves, you would not have been able to convince someone that he is an ordinary pastor or deacon in a small village. He was always tucked in with shirts two sizes up, and instead of boots, he wore sandals. Almost everywhere Paul exists has grey walls, so he would be painted into those walls and doesn't appear powerful. His clothes start shrinking, and he starts wearing short sleeves as he reverts to the past.</p>

<p>With Vic, her hair was flaming red in the first scene, but as the story progresses, the colour of the red becomes more muted, her outfits are no longer as bright, her jewellery is no longer big and shouting, and her character becomes muted as she becomes less naive.</p>

<h3>The secret to an authentic Nigerian action movie</h3>

<p>We had to defer at all times to authenticity and simplicity. It needed to be a very simple story that anyone could identify with. We had to create a world that was believable yet fantastical. So, it is that authenticity that makes you believe that a Nigerian film is an action film. We have chase scenes that are not high-octane. It is literally a Volkswagen truck followed by a police truck and then a pickup truck with armed men sitting in it. It's not like flying off a bridge. Not that kind of action.</p>

<p>Our action had to be grounded and rooted in the environments that we shoot them. It's a story that is deeply rooted in humanity in Nigeria. It's not a story about heroes, in Nigeria, we don't have big heroes, every silver lining has a dark cloud, every nice person out there doing things has a secret, and every star was formed out of darkness. I wanted to write a story without heroes, where everyone comes out wondering who was good or bad. It's a story where some people are worse than others. The line I want everyone to leave with is that 'silence is the enemy.'</p>

<p>I am shooting that in January. I can't tell you the title. If you think you are excited about this, just know it's an amazing story.&nbsp;</p>

How Editi Effiong delivered a global hit with 'The Black Book' [Exclusive]

<h2>Tems has shared her thoughts on the pressure that comes with being successful.</h2>

<p>She discussed her newfound fame in a newly released <a href="https://www.pulse.ng/entertainment/music/heres-how-celine-dion-sparked-tems-love-for-music/wfsmsw3">conversation with&nbsp;<strong>Kendrick Lamar</strong></a><strong>&nbsp;</strong>for&nbsp;<em>Interview</em>&nbsp;magazine.</p>

<p>Admitting that she feels the pressure that comes with success, she stated that she deals with it by staying true to herself.</p>

<p>In her words, "<em>When you become more known or seen, it’s very easy to get caught up in, “What do people expect of me now?” But for me, it’s like, “What do I expect of myself now?” Because you’re the one that has to live with yourself, the one that has to sleep with the decisions that you make. Trusting yourself is so key, and I’m not going to stop trusting my guts just because people can see me now. It’s like being in a zoo. The animals don’t change their behaviour just because you’re looking at them. They’re always going to be who they are. So why should I change?"</em></p>

<p><a href="https://www.pulse.ng/entertainment/music/tems-makes-history-with-oscar-nomination-see-full-nomination-list/mzzgxxx">The Oscar-nominated singer</a> also shared some advice that could be useful for artists, and fans alike. According to her, remembering why you started is the key to staying on the right path.</p>

<p><em>"Yeah, you have to remember how you felt when you started as an artist, to understand the reason you’re doing what you’re doing,"&nbsp;</em>the singer advised.<em>&nbsp;"Yes, it’s to be seen, or to make a name for yourself, but beyond that, why are you doing it? Most of the time, it’s because you have a story to share, a message to give."</em></p>

<p>Tems has come a long way since she put out the&nbsp;<em>For Broken Ears&nbsp;</em>EP in 2020. She has since&nbsp;<a href="https://www.pulse.ng/entertainment/music/tems-surpasses-1-billion-spotify-streams/48lme73">surpassed one billion streams on Spotify</a>, appeared on the soundtrack to&nbsp;<em>Black Panther: Wakanda Forever</em>, and scored collaborations with artists like&nbsp;<strong>Drake</strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Beyonce</strong>.</p>

<p>She also co-wrote&nbsp;<strong>Rihanna</strong>'s&nbsp;<em>Lift Me Up,&nbsp;</em>which went on to score an Oscar nomination. Tems is currently working on her debut album.</p>

<h2>Tems has traced her love for music to Celine Dion.</h2>

<p>Speaking with <strong>Kendrick Lamar</strong>&nbsp;for a newly released feature in The&nbsp;<em>Interview Magazine</em>&nbsp;feature, she opened about discovering her love for music at an early age.</p>

<p>Crediting Dion, <a href="https://www.pulse.ng/entertainment/music/tems-makes-history-with-oscar-nomination-see-full-nomination-list/mzzgxxx">the Oscar-nominated singer</a> said,<em> "I’m not sure when the first time I heard music was, but I found myself loving the radio, and I used to hear Celine Dion. Nigerians love Celine Dion. Her songs are very emotional, jump-off-a-cliff-type songs. They entered my soul. I think that’s where my love for music started."</em></p>

<p>Not long after falling in love with music, Tems took to songwriting before she became a teenager. She described the experience as something that quickly became an obession.</p>

<p>In her words,<em> "And then, when I was nine or ten, I started writing songs, but it wasn’t songs with choruses, it was just verses of things I was feeling. <p>Jones was well known for the role of William Hill on<strong><em>&nbsp;</em></strong><a href="https://www.pulse.ng/lifestyle/mens-health/sterling-k-brown-says-this-is-us-helped-him-say-goodbye-to-his-real-father/fd4gxbc"><strong><em>This Is Us</em></strong></a><strong><em>,&nbsp;</em></strong>the biological father of&nbsp;<strong>Sterling K. <p>Ahead of the release of the African anthology, <strong><em>Pulse </em></strong>spoke with the award-winning filmmaker about joining the project, and the potential of African animation:</p>

<h3>Saying Yes to Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire</h3>

<p><em>I couldn't say no. I was first exposed to the African animation community in 2019. I got invited to come to the Cape Town animation festival, and I was just blown away by the talent, the people, and the spirit that was here. I met a lot of filmmakers who ended up participating in Kizazi Moto, and the guys at Triggerfish Studios whose idea it was to put an anthology together. They called me almost a year after the festival and said, 'Hey we're doing this Anthology of films from the region and Disney+ is involved. Would you like to be involved?' We really hit it up so, I immediately said yes. I had to do it because the creative energy there I felt was so inspiring to me. I was like, 'Man if the rest of the world can see and feel this it really would be something.' For me, that was my motivation and I'm just so I'm so glad that it all worked out and that the rest of the world is going to get a little bit of that feeling.</em></p>

<h3>Choosing his favourite film&nbsp;</h3>

<p><em>That's like asking me to say what my favourite finger is on my hand. They're all individual and that's kind of the point. They're all very unique. They're all going to show the world that Africa has got lots of different individual voices that are all saying important, entertaining and fun stuff. So, I can't pick one. I feel like it's like a whole world of greatness.</em></p>

<p><em>These things always depend on the audience and how people respond to them. The thing is we kind of whittled down the number of films to 10 it could have easily been twice as many there are so many more stories to tell so I hope there's a season two, three, four, five and on and on and on because there's that much creative energy and spirit here.</em></p>

<h2>Idris Elba is no longer interested in the highly coveted James Bond role.</h2>

<p>During a recent interview, <a href="https://www.pulse.ng/entertainment/movies/mo-abudu-joins-forces-with-idris-elba-to-empower-african-storytellers/9lsvm2v">the British actor and filmmaker</a> said he wanted to portray the iconic character until it became about racism.</p>

<p>Appearing as a guest on the most recent episode of the <strong><em>Smartless</em></strong> podcast, co-hosted by <strong>Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes,</strong> and <strong>Will Arnett</strong>, the 50-year-old actor shared his thoughts on the rumours and the racism that eventually came with it.</p>

<p>In his words,<em> "The truth is, I was super complemented for a long time about this [playing the James Bond role]. I was like, 'This is crazy! James Bond?'"We are all actors, and we understand that role. It's one of those coveted roles. Being asked to be James Bond was like, 'Okay, you've sort of reached the pinnacle.' That is one of those things the whole world has a vote in. It was a huge compliment that every corner of the world, except for some corners, which we will not talk about, were really happy about the idea that I could be considered. Those that weren't happy about the idea made the whole thing disgusting because it became about race."</em></p>

<p>Elba's name joined the 007 conversation long before <strong>Daniel Craig</strong>'s last appearance as Bond in&nbsp;<a href="https://www.pulse.ng/entertainment/movies/no-time-to-die-daniel-craigs-james-bond-takes-a-final-bow/51w6gp9"><strong><em>No Time to Die</em></strong></a><strong><em>&nbsp;</em></strong>(2021), after Sony Pictures executive <strong>Amy Pascal</strong> stated that she felt&nbsp;<em>"Idris should be the next Bond"</em>&nbsp;in a leaked 2014 email.</p>

<p>Appearing on Deadline's&nbsp;<strong><em>Crew Call&nbsp;</em></strong>podcast in 2022, <strong>Barbara Broccoli,</strong> one of the franchise's lead producers, admitted that Elba had "<em>been part of the conversation".</em></p>

<p><em>"Well, we know Idris, I'm friends with him, and he's a magnificent actor,"&nbsp;</em>she said<em>. "It's been part of the conversation, but it's always difficult to have the conversation when you have someone in the seat."</em></p>

<p>For now, the coveted position is on hold as the filmmakers take their time to reinvent the role and the film series.</p>

<p>Speaking with Deadline in June 2022, Broccoli said,&nbsp;<em>"There isn't a script, and we can't come up with one until we decide how we're going to approach the next film because, really, it's a reinvention of Bond. We're reinventing who he is, and that takes time."</em></p>

<p>The James Bond producer added that filming for <a href="https://www.pulse.ng/entertainment/movies/james-bond-could-identify-as-non-binary-in-future-franchise-producer/c11n2lc">the next film in the franchise</a> "<em>is at least two years away."</em></p>

<p>Bond has been played by<strong>&nbsp;Sean Connery, David Niven, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton,</strong>&nbsp;<strong>Pierce Brosnan&nbsp;</strong>and lastly by Craig.</p>

<h2>Right now, Nigeria requires a minimum of 1.8 million units of blood yearly to meet the blood transfusion needs of citizens.</h2>

<p>According to<strong>&nbsp;Musa Muhibi</strong>,&nbsp;a Professor of Haematology at Edo State University, <a href="https://www.pulse.ng/news/local/nigeria-requires-18m-blood-units-yearly-to-meet-transfusion-needs/ksl7bpb">the rate of blood donation in the country is low</a>, with only a maximum of 10 percent of donors.</p>

<p>He said,<em> “Nigeria has one of lowest voluntary blood donation rates globally, with only 10 percent of blood supply coming from voluntary donors. Also, 60 percent comes from family replacement donors, while 30 percent comes from paid blood donors.”</em></p>

<p>Despite the low rates, it turns out that rolling your sleeves up to donate blood does come with some health benefits.</p>

<p>Scientists have found that regular blood donation lowers LDL-c, also known as “bad” cholesterol as it causes plaque buildup in arteries which leads to cardiovascular diseases.</p>

<p>A study published in the&nbsp;Journal of Blood Medicine&nbsp;in 2022 showed that regular blood donors had lower LDL-c (low-density lipoprotein cholesterol) compared to first-time donors.</p>

<p>The data also showed that regular blood donors have a higher level of HDL-c (high-density lipoprotein cholesterol), which lowers the risk of heart attacks and strokes.</p>

<p>In a paper titled ‘Donation frequency, iron loss, and risk of cancer among blood donors', Swedish researcher Dr&nbsp;<strong>Gustaf Edgren</strong>, observed that the risks of cancers of the lung, liver, colon, stomach, and oesophagus saw a decreasing trend as these are thought to be promoted by iron overload. This has been attributed to the fact that donating blood is said to maintain iron levels.</p>

<p>A 2022 study in the Journal of Oncology titled 'Association between Blood Donation and Malignant and Benign Tumour Risk', conducted among 3.4 million participants in China, also stated that the overall risk of tumours decreased more substantially with age in blood donors compared with nonblood donors.</p>

<p>In addition to these three health benefits, there is also the fact that helping people in need by donating your blood does wonders for your mood and mental health.</p>

<p>Before you go donating blood, make sure you drink a lot of water, eat well, exercise, and take iron tablets.</p>

<h2>Mr Eazi believes Afrobeats is the key to developing Africa's creative economy.</h2>

<p>Vanguard reports that the popular musician and entrepreneur recently preached the gospel of African music at the 2023 Milken Global Conference in Los Angeles.</p>

<p>Speaking alongside <strong>Mo Abudu</strong>, CEO of EbonyLife Group; Prince <strong>Jacon Osinachi, </strong>AfrofutureDAO co-founder; and<strong> Laolu Senbanjo</strong>, a visual artist, he stressed the fact that Afrobeats is the next frontier for developing and stimulating the regional creative economy.</p>

<p>In addition to improving the economy, Mr Eazi added that music from the continent helps to export African commodities overseas and shape global culture.</p>

<p>By doing this, the artist argues that Afrobeats preserves our heritage while generating opportunities for cultural exchange.</p>

<p>Moderated by <strong>Aubrey Hruby, </strong>a co-founder of Tofino Capital, the theme for the conversation was “Africa: Next Frontier for the Creative Economy.”</p>

<p>Closing his part of the panel discussion, Mr Eazi spoke on the challenges in the African music industry, which include equity participation in terms of investment and infrastructure.</p>

<p>Noting that intellectual property is one way to create an orange economy for the African music industry, he encouraged upcoming African artists to see themselves as start ups and invest more in their intellectual property.</p>

<p>The artist's comments come after he recently created a new pan-African music group, Choplife Soundsystem to put a modern, African twist on soundsystem culture.</p>

<p>Mr Eazi was inspired to take the vibe and spirit of his successful Ghana holiday party Detty Rave on the road with the Choplife Soundsystem .</p>

<p>So far, he has had events in Cotonou, Benin; Stockholm, Sweden; Kigali, Rwanda and put out the first official 'Choplife Soundsystem' single titled <em>Wena.</em></p>

<p>Created by African creators, the ten-part collection of animated short films is an action-packed animated sci-fi take on the continent.</p>

<p>It invites viewers into 10 futuristic visions from Africa complete with advanced technology, spirits, our rich history and culture.</p>

<p>To create this project, Disney invited over 70 African creators to pitch their ideas. <a href="https://www.pulse.ng/entertainment/movies/disney-unveils-african-sci-fi-kizazi-moto-generation-fire/7qlm267">10 projects were chosen</a> and the result is this feature-length anthology, which will be released as a Disney Plus Original worldwide soon.</p>

<p>The comedic talents will compete against each other to see who can keep a straight face as they go all out to make their opponents laugh for the grand prize of 1 million Rand (over $50,000). The grand prize will be donated to the winner’s chosen South African charity.</p>
