Popular TV Anchor Undergoes Surgery

The K24 Alfajiri host undergoes surgery

Popular K24 Alfajiri host has undergone surgery to correct a rare condition.

The TV girl broke the news on her Instagram page expressing disappointment on how some physicians treated her condition.

Ciru Muriuki who hosts K24 Alfajiri alongside Serah Teshna and Jeff Mote lamented how the physician insisted that she was suffering from an STD which was not the case.

She disclosed that she has been suffering from endometriosis and the surgery she underwent was to remove an ovarian cyst.

“I had a laparoscopic procedure yesterday to remove a large haemorrhagic ovarian cyst. I'm a little sore, but on the mend. We need a cure. We do,” said the post.

She went on to praise Jahmby Koikai who has been suffering from endometriosis for a number of years and has since been creating awareness on the same.

@jahmbykoikai you're a rock star for bringing awareness to endometriosis. So many of us are suffering in silence, faced with physicians who don't really care.”

The announcement makes Ciru the latest celebrity to come out publicly to declare that they are suffering from endometriosis.

Ciru and Jahmby worked together for the Nation Media Group as Radio hosts and host for the Trend TV show.

Endometriosis is a rare medical condition in which the tissue that covers the inside of the uterus grows on the outside covering the ovaries, fallopian tubes and tissues around the uterus and ovaries and may occur in other parts of the body.
