Royal Media Services owned radio station Hot 96 has brought in Cynthia Ythera Mwangi as their newest presenter.

Ms Mwangi, who doubles up as the head of radio at Hot 96 has been handed “The Morning after” a show that will air every Saturday from 6am-10am.

Speaking to Pulselive.co.ke , Ms Mwangi mentioned that her show will be infotainment, with the aim of igniting conversations among Kenyans.

“It’s an infotainment show. As the name suggests, it’s the morning after...after a long week, you want to start your weekend relaxed, with great music and great conversations” said Ythera Mwangi.

It won't affect my position as the Station Manager

Asked whether the show would be hosting any guests, Mwangi said “We won’t have any guests. However we hope to incorporate stories from people across Africa who’ve conquered great adversity to reach their goals.”

She added that the new role as a presenter won’t affect her position as the station manager nor producer of the Hot Breakfast show hosted by Jeff Koinange and Prof. Harmo.

“This doesn’t affect my position in any way. I’m still the station manager, shows producer and and now radio host. The thing about RMS is we don’t shy away from growing talent we allow people to pursue their passions whatever they are and this is one of my passions I am pursuing” said Ms Mwangi.

Stepping out to a new challenge

An excited Ms Mwangi also put up a poster on her Instagram page accepting the new challenge to step up as presenter, aside from her administrative duties at the station.

“A journey of a thousand miles starts with one step. Here is my first step....stepping out to a new challenge. Join me on my new journey, let's learn, laugh, dance, do it all on this journey. Saturday mornings are for good music and great conversations don't you agree? #themorningafter” reads part of the her post.

For months now, Ms Mwangi has been the producer of Hot96’s the Drive Show with Patrick Igunza and Zindzi Kibiku.
