An angry Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Nick Mwendwa has said Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohammed doesn't understand how football is 'run' following her decision to appoint a 15 member committee to handle affairs of FKF.

In an interview with TV47, the embattled President categorically stated that he and his team will continue with work as usual.

"We have rejected her decision, football competitions will go on...football administration will go on as usual," said Mwendwa.

Mwendwa went further to remind CS Mohammed that he has been able through similar challenges with previous sports ministers, with whom he all outlasted.

"She is the third sports cabinet secretary I am working under, we have never heard issues before but now that we do, she not only ignores our calls but also refuses to reply to our letters. She only speaks to the media and we are used to this," said Mwendwa.

The committee led by former director of the Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission Aaron Ringera has been given six months to steady the sinking ship that is FKF.

Other members of the committee are: General Retired Moses Oyugi, Fatma Adan, Philip Musyimi, Anthony Isayi, Elisha Kiplagat and Hassan Haji, Fredrick Tureisa, Mwangi Muthee, Neddy Atieno, Ali Amour, Titus Kasuve, Richard Omwela, Bobby Ogolla and JJ Masiga.

The move came after CS Amina received the audit report on FKF (which is yet to be made public) from Sports Registrar Rose Wasike.
