However, for accomplished individuals, the CV is a treasured document that explains their professional and academic qualifications as well as achievements.

Prof George Albert Amore Magoha
The current KNEC Chairman has a detailed 81-page resume that starts with a detailed table of contents.
The former UoN chancellor lists academic certificates and journals that he has published.
The professor of urology also includes details of his family including listing his wife, Dr O.B Magoha, and his son Dr Michael Augustus Magoha in the document. A list of all the 57 countries he has visited in also part of the CV.

Prof Makau Mutua
The US-based lawyer shocked many with his lengthy CV after he applied for position of Chief Justice in 2016.
Makau has a 74-page resume with a huge part of it being dedicated to the list of scholarly and newspapers he has published.
The lengthy CV elicited debate on the value offered by lengthy CV. Political analyst Prof Mutahi Ngunyi reacted with the example of Prof Ali Mazrui- an internationally respected intellectual whose CV was only 14 pages.
Jimnah Mbaru
The wealthy businessman made public his CV while he was running for the position of Nairobi Governor.
Mbaru listed his three degrees, publications, and clients he had worked for in his illustrious corporate career.
Prof Lawrence Gumbe
The University of Nairobi don has a 35 page document as a CV.
He dedicates a huge part of the pages to the names of all his PhD candidates and the numerous PhD students he has supervised.
Prof Calestous Juma
The recently deceased Harvard University Professor had an impressive 27-page CV.
The resume captures Juma’s career journey which started with a Teacher’s certificate in 1972 – and saw him listed as one of the most respected intellectuals in the world.
