Popular talk show host, Ellen Degeneres, changed the life of a Kenyan man living in the United States after giving him $25,000 which is about Ksh2.5 million.

Ellen had received a video sent to her by Lawrence, a Certified Registered Nurse (CNA) who helps old people, where he told the TV show of how much he admired her kindness.

Life Changing

"I love you coz you are very kind and I love how you give people chances," he stated in the video.

Ellen was touched by Larry's message and arranged for him to be in her audience during the recording of one of her shows.

Larry was invited on stage by Ellen, where he spoke of winning the US green card at the age of 19 and how he struggled with culture shock and depressing moments as people called him names and made fun of his accent.

He stated that although he had a hard time, in the beginning, he chose to keep going since he had a family to take care of back home.

Ellen learnt that Larry had to sacrifice going to college to pay the school for his brother and sister who is in the University.

Kindness Message

The TV show host surprised Larry with supplies to help him through college and donated Ksh2.5 million to him to help with his schooling.

In May this year, Ellen shared photos with her wife after they vacationed in Kenya at the Giraffe Manor, in Lang'ata.

The couple made a stopover in Nairobi on their way to Rwanda for the wildlife fund’s first project where they are building a permanent home for the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund for the wild, endangered gorillas of Rwanda.
