Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso is now on bed rest, a statement from her Director of Communications Ezra Kirui conveyed on Monday.
The Governor, who was said to have been admitted at Nairobi Hospital last week, has been confirmed to be "responding well to treatment".
Mr Kirui further explained that her doctors are closely monitoring her progress and have recommended limited visitation during her time of recovery.
"The office of the Governor would like to reassure residents of Bomet and the general public that Bomet Governor Dr Joyce Laboso is recuperating well and still under observation.
"The Governor acknowledges overwhelming goodwill messages and prayers from Kenyans as she responds well to treatment.
"The Governor's doctors have recommended her enough rest for speedy recovery and advise on limited visitation," the statement read.
Dr Laboso sought treatment in London and India
Dr Laboso returned to the country on July 15 after undergoing treatment in London and India.
The governor's handlers and her family have not revealed what is ailing her.
She is yet to resume her duties at the county. Her deputy Hillary Barchok took over operations when the governor traveled to London for treatment in May.
