East African Legislative Assembly MP Oburu Odingas home was raided by thugs.

Reports indicate that the gang made away with over 1,000 chicken which he was rearing at the farm.

Missing Brood

The EALA legislator lamented on the state of insecurity in Bondo, adding that the chicken incident was just a tip of the ice berg.

Mr Odinga further stated that apart from his chicken, the gang had also raided the home of nominated MCA Tabu Osewe and stole his brood of chicken.

Bondo security officers were put on the spot over the recent robberies and some extreme cases of murder which have enveloped in the recent past.

Mr Odinga told of how his farm attendant was murdered and the body dumped at a dam while another young man was killed in an estate in Bondo Town.

Shaming Police

He shamed the police in Bondo for not taking their job seriously and treating the insecurity with the seriousness it deserves.

Additionally, the EALA MP further suggested an overhaul of the security in the region stating that most of them had stayed in their stations more than it is required.

A crime report released in 2018, noted that the greatest threats continue to be road safety and crime. Street crime is a serious problem particularly in Nairobi, Mombasa, and other large cities.

Crime Rates

Along with other crimes of opportunity, pickpockets and thieves often carry out snatch-and-grab attacks in crowded areas and from idle vehicles in traffic.

Violent, and sometimes fatal, criminal attacks, including home invasions, burglaries, armed carjackings, and kidnappings were also reported to occur at any time and in any location.

Criminals were noted to frequently use weapons during commission of their crime and even go as far as shooting a victim if they are not uncooperative.
