Uhuru nominates new Inspector General of police

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday through an executive order issued, nominated Hilary Mutyambai as the new Inspector General of the National Police.

Mutyambai is set to replace outgoing IG Joseph Bonnet, whose four year term has ended.

Kenyatta further made state appointments which are as follows:

• Wycliffe Ogalo was appointed as the Commissioner-General of the Kenyan Prisons Service

• Brig. Vincent Naisho Lonena was made the Director -General of the Kenya Coast Guard Service.

• Brig. John Migui Waweru will be the Director-General of the Kenya Wildlife Service.

Boinnet appointed as CAS

Boinnet on the other hand, has been given a new job as the Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) in the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife.

The Head of State also made changes to the National Police Service Commission after he appointed Eliud Ndung’u Kinuthia as the Chairperson; members that will make up the body include: Lilian Mutio Kiamba, Euesibus Karuti Laituba, Naphtaly Kipchirchir Rono, Alice Atieno Otwala and John Tetemo Ole Mayaki.
