The Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) will be closed on Thursday, October 5.
The closure will last for one hour between 11am to 12 noon.
The closure is necessitated to allow the military conduct this year's Mashujaa Day drill celebrations scheduled to take place on October 20.
The national carrier Kenya Airways announced to the public that there will be slight flight delays as a result.
"We apologize to our guests for any inconvenience caused," Kenya Airways tweeted.
Earlier this year, JKIA was granted Category One status by the US Federal Aviation Administration paving the way for direct flights between Kenya and United States.
