Businessman Jimi Wanjigi was on Wednesday evening cornered in a dramatic incident at Nairobis Museum Hill area.
A video of the incident captured a contingent of heavily armed men stopping Wanjigi's vehicle.
Police were reported saying they had orders to arraign him in a court in Nyeri.
Although the officers managed to immobilise Wanjigi's vehicle, the businessman remained inside his armoured vehicle and declined to come out of the vehicle.
The wealthy businessman has recently clashed with the government over what is perceived to be his dalliance with the NASA coalition.
