Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs and Sports, Ababu Namwamba, on October 24 paid a heartfelt visit to the iconic broadcaster, Leonard Mambo Mbotela, at his residence in Nairobi.

The purpose of the visit was to inquire about the well-being of the renowned broadcaster.

In a statement shared on the official social media account of the ministry, the CS and the legendary broadcaster, most celebrated for his iconic 'Je Huu Ni Uungwana' programme, indulged in a nostalgic conversation, reminiscing about the golden era of radio broadcasting, particularly in the realm of sports commentary.

"Legends are forever. What a special blessing to visit with and drink from the fountain of wisdom of this incredible national hero of all time, the ever-green, irrepressible colossus Leonard Mambo Mbotela, he of the peerless 'Je, huu ni ungwana' fame.

"Support for Mbotela is a special salute to him and all our broadcasting greats who have left such an indelible mark on the rich tapestry of our nation. Live long Shujaa!" Ababu tweeted.
