A police helicopter crash-landed at Wilson Airport on Saturday, 02 November 2019, becoming the latest incident at the facility.
K24 reports that the helicopter, registration 5Y-SFA (Mil Mi-17 Hip) developed mechanical issues while preparing to land.
Two people were on board the helicopter that had just arrived from Liboi in Garissa County at the time of the incident-(a chief inspector and an inspector attached to the Kenya Police Airwing) which saw the aircraft touch down a few meters from the runway.
No injury was reported during the incident that is the latest in a series of accidents at the airport.
The plane was reportedly repaired and cleared for take-off after the Saturday afternoon incident.
