President Uhuru Kenyatta appoints Edwin Abonyo, husband to the Late Dr Joyce Laboso, to the State Corporations Advisory Committee

President Uhuru Kenyatta has appointed husband to the Late Dr Joyce Laboso, Mr Edwin Abonyo to the State Corporations Advisory Committee.

In a Gazette Notice released late on Monday evening, Mr Abonyo was listed among the nine members who will constitute the committee for the next three years.

Abonyo will be working together with Jeremiah Matagaro who was appointed Chairman, Wanjiku Wakogi who was appointed as Secretary, Winfred Kaburu, Cecil Kuyo, Cyrus Gituai, Tom Maina Macharia, Roselyn B. Tumpeyo and Gloria Ndekei.

The appointments took effect immediately.

Mr Abonyo, who had remained in the background of his late wife's political career, is a contractor by profession.

Mary Wambui Munene appointed to government

Former Othaya MP Mary Wambui was also appointed to a government position in the same Gazette Notice by Labour CS and acting Treasury CS Ukur Yattani.

"IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 10 (1) (a) of the National Employment Authority Act, the Cabinet Secretary for Labour and Social Protection appoints— MARY WAMBUI MUNENE to be the Chairperson of the National Employment Authority, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 14th October, 2019," the notice by Yattani read.
